about us

In Bonito Vicio, we promote the culture of real traditional mezcal and agave spirits, meeting the highest quality standards and adequate alcohol content. Our mission is to make the best Mexican mezcals known to the world.

History
of Mezcal

Mezcal, just like Mexicans, is a mestizo drink, a blend of three cultures: Asian (where distillation was invented), European (where distillation was perfected for alcoholic-beverage elaboration), and American (responsible for the contribution of agave, the main raw material for this beverage).
Although there are no exact records, it’s been confirmed that agave has been cooked in America for more than 800 years and has had a very important place in our culture, perhaps more than corn, because this wonderful plant has not only been used as food and drink, but also as construction material, fuel and even clothing. It was only logical that sooner or later, it would give us another unique element in our tradition: Mezcal.
